　アラン・ギルバートは、2018年4月の首席客演指揮者就任以来、楽員との変わらぬ信頼関係のもと、ベートーヴェン、マーラーから、最近では20世紀スウェーデンの大家ペッテションの交響曲を紹介するなど、幅広く多彩なプログラムを採り上げ、そのすべてにおいて圧倒的な名演を生み出し続けています。コロナ禍により、残念ながら来日が困難な時期も続きましたが、その間も日本のファンに共感を寄せ、2021年6月に１年6ヵ月ぶりに来日した際には、大きな熱狂をもって迎えられました。
　これからも、アラン・ギルバートと都響のパートナーシップの深化にご注目ください。

　東京都交響楽団と私が深めてきた音楽的な絆は、私にとって非常に大切なものであり、首席客演指揮者としての任期がさらに継続されることは大きな喜びです。
　この数年、私たちは幅広いレパートリーを取り上げてきましたが、どのプロジェクトにおいてもオーケストラの皆さんの献身的な取り組みと深い理解があり、感謝してきました。
素晴らしい奏者の皆さんと共にした演奏は、どれ一つをとっても忘れられないものばかりで、このような優れたヴィルトゥオーゾたちと信頼関係を築けたことを、大変光栄に思います。
　日本には家族的な繋がりを感じており、私の第２の故郷である日本で、音楽を愛する聴衆の皆さまと音楽を分かち合える機会はかけがえのないものです。都響とともに、より一層素晴らしいコンサートをお届けできることを楽しみにしております。

　　The musical relationship I share with the TMSO is incredibly important to me,and I am extremely pleased that my position as principal guest conductor has thepossibility to continue further into the future.
　　Over the last years, we have explored a wide range of repertoire, and in every project we have undertaken together, I have felt and appreciated the intense commitment and mastery of the magnificent musicians in the orchestra. Every project we have done together has been memorable for me, and it is an honor to have the trust of these brilliant virtuosos.
　　I feel a family connection to Japan, and the opportunity to share our music with the music-loving public in my second home-country is very precious to me. I look forward to many more wonderful concerts with the TMSO.
