    • About Screening
        1. Document and Recording Screening
          • Resume and Audio Recording (CD-R) Screening
          ★Deadline: Application must arrive no later than Friday, July 9, 2021 *For resume, see guideline for application “How to Apply” below. *For recording, record the listed works below on “CD-R” and submit. *The submitted “CD-R” must be playable on CD players in Japan. The order of pieces performed is to be as follows (The music of the set piece and orchestra excerpts for the audio recording screening is to be prepared by the applicant him/herself.) 【Solo Set Piece】 *It should be recorded with piano accompaniment. (Accompanist is to be arranged by the applicant.) F. David / Concertino in E-flat major, op.4 (Zimmermann edition),1st movement. (without Cadenza) 【Orchestra Excerpts】 1. Rossini: “William Tell” Overture, from C to the 9th bar of D 2. Richard Wagner: Der Walkurenritt, from bar 58 to bar 77 3. Mozart:Requiem D minor, Tuba mirum [Guideline to audio recording] *Indicate applicant’s name on the face of the disc. *All set pieces (both solo set piece and orchestra excerpts) have to be recorded in 1 (one) take AND on 1 (one) track. (Everything must be recorded on the same day at the same place. Editing is not allowed after the recording is made.) *Be sure to play the disc on a CD player and check that it is playable prior to submitting the CD-R. Poor recording quality may result in disqualification. *The recording of the CD-R must be within 2 months of the day of submission.
          Result of the Document and Audio Recording Screening will be sent off on Wednesday, July 21, 2021. Notification for 1st round audition schedule and orchestra excepts will be mailed to successful applicants of the document and audio recording screening.

      1. Aptitude evaluation for an orchestra player (held for successful applicants of the 3rd round audition) *To be engaged in the services of the TMSO (In principle within 4 months period) *Fee is provided in accordance with the TMSO regulation.

    • Notification for Results
      • Results for the 1st round audition will be notified on Tuesday, September 28, 2021
      • Results for the 2nd round audition will be notified on Wednesday, September 29, 2021
      • Results for the 3rd round audition will be notified on Monday, October 18, 2021
      • Results for the aptitude evaluation will be notified immediately after screening.
    • Interview
      Held for applicants who passed the aptitude evaluation for an orchestra player.
    • How to Apply
      Resume (including names of teachers, musical activities, ID photo attached) and CD-R for the screening must be received on or before Friday, July 9, 2021 by post or brought in person by 5:00pm on the same day to the TMSO management office. *Applicants applying from outside of Tokyo Metropolitan Area may consult the audition time for the 1st round audition. In such case, please specify the preferred time in the Resume. *The resume and CD-R will be used solely for the purpose of the audition. Resume and the CD-R will not be returned.     • Terms of employment
      • Salary will be on an annual salary scheme in accordance with the TMSO regulation. - 3 year contract with renewal. - No retirement allowance provided.
      • Commuting allowance, expenses for expendables, maintenance, and repairs of instruments are provided.
      • Social Insurance (health insurance, employees pension insurance, employment insurance) provided.
      *For candidates who cannot begin work immediately because of being a student or for any other reasons may consult.
    • Others
      • Applicants should bring his/her own piano accompanist needed for the 1st and 3rd round audition. (For applicants who find it difficult to bring his/her accompanist due to residing overseas or outside Tokyo Metropolitan Area, TMSO will arrange an accompanist. In such case, please be sure to mention it in the piano accompanist column of the resume.)
      • Applicants should be responsible for his/her expenses for transportation, travel and accommodation.
